Museo Elder de la Ciencia y la Tecnolog­a

The Elder Museum of Science and Technology, located in the center of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, in the cosmopolitan Santa Catalina Park, near the port area, opened its doors in December 1999, in the building owned by a former shipping company Elder DempsterLines Ltd., located on the island since 1884.

Center attached to the Ministry of Tourism of the Government of the Canary Islands, is open from Tuesday to Sunday, from 10’00-20’00hrs. Distributed on four floors with interactive exhibits, temporary exhibition areas, 3D cinema, Planetarium, Canary Islands cetacean area and children’s area, it also has space for workshops, round tables, conferences and business activities. Being present in its facilities different disciplines such as Mathematics, Physics, Biology, Informatics, Engineering, Art … making it a bridge of communication with citizens, transforming science into something close, participative and enjoyable for all audiences .

This set of rooms and activities show that the museum is much more than an exhibition center, becoming an alternative center where you can touch, manipulate, discover and learn, becoming a center of promotion and exchange of knowledge in the field of Scientific dissemination.
