Smáralind

The Mall is the largest shopping center of the country, full of interesting shops and restaurants and excellent entertainment. The mall has over 62,000 m 2 in size with about 100 shops, restaurants and service providers operating in the building.‚ Smáralind (Icelandic pronunciation:‚ ‚[‹†sma‹ural‰ªnt]) is a shopping mall located in the middle of the Capital Region, Iceland. It is one of the biggest shopping malls in Iceland, with over seventy shops, restaurants and services. Designed by BDP and built by STAK hf., it was opened on 10 October 2001 at 10:10 GMT.‚ Smáralind competes with another shopping mall, Kringlan, as well as with Reykjav­k’s old city centre. Kringlan, Smáralind, and Downtown Reykjav­k are just few kilometers apart.

The mall’s anchor tenant is Hagkaup. Other major tenants are Zara and Smárat­vol­, a children’s entertainment centre.‚ The mall also houses a cinema. There are a number of well-known restaurants and cafs, including Subway, Pizza Hut, Sbarro, and TGI Friday’s among others.
